Laura Hanstad is a Usui Holy Fire III Reiki Master, a Craniosacral Therapist, birth doula and lactation counselor (CLEC), mother of six and a lifelong learner! Professionally Laura has worked in higher education and adult education in some capacity since she was 15, which is why learning and teaching are some of her favorite ways to spend time. Fortunately, Laura was introduced to Reiki, chiropractic work and CST at a young age (thanks to her mom) and grew up with it but went through her own training in more recent years. Learning Reiki and CST is one of the best things she has done for herself as an adult!

Reiki I and II are taught together during a two-day intensive. Both Placements (attunements) are given. All the information and techniques for both levels are covered including:

The class is a combination of lecture, discussion and experience. Practice time includes giving and receiving a complete Reiki treatment using all the hand positions, the self -treatment, practice using all the level II symbols including distant healing, and practice using all the Japanese Reiki Techniques mentioned above.
While practice takes place during the class, it is expected that you will set aside additional time to practice after the class is over. Please commit to this additional time which should be one evening a week for several weeks, or its equivalent, to practice Reiki with one or more people from your Reiki class or with members of your family or friends. This additional practice is necessary to gain the experience and confidence you need to fully utilize the Reiki training.
Cost – $450.00 with a $175.00 non-refundable deposit. Early bird registration ($400) ends six weeks before the class start date). The sum of the payment will be refunded minus the $175 deposit to those who cancel within less than a week from the class start date. There is no refund for those who start the class and cannot continue however you may be able to join another class date. Doulas please contact re: deposit. Class size is limited to 10.

The Master training combines the complete Usui/Holy Fire® III Master training into one 3-day class. To qualify to take this class, a student must have taken Reiki I&II and practiced Reiki II for at least six months. Also, a student must be able to draw the three symbols from Reiki II from memory.
World Peace Reiki
This class makes use of World Peace Reiki energy which has all the qualities of the Holy Fire III energy and includes a higher vibration that actively creates feelings of peace within each student. Also included in this class is the Empowered by the River of Peace Experience and the World Peace Ignition which establishes and strengthens the World Peace Reiki energy and empowers one to actively manifest peace in the world. This type of peace is similar to the peace Usui Sensei received on Mt. Kurama when he was given the gift of Reiki. The World Peace Ignition also empowers each student to teach the World Peace version of this class to others.
In the process of learning the healing techniques, Experiences, Placements and Ignitions (Note that Placements and Ignitions provide the same benefit as attunements.) and taking part in the guided meditations (Experiences), each student will receive many healing experiences. The Usui Master symbol which increases the effectiveness of the Reiki II symbols and can be used for healing.

Join Laura for a half-day workshop on craniosacral therapy and myofascial release techniques specifically designed to support the birthing person. These techniques can improve birth outcomes, parental comfort and a smoother recovery. This workshop will entail approximately 1-1.5 hours of lecture including a short history of CST, what CST/myofascial unwinding is, examples of how this work can be applied and more! Pack a lunch and we will eat together outdoors, network among attendees and get to know each other as birth professionals. Following lunch, participants will have the opportunity to practice hands-on techniques so that they can feel the release of fascia, changes in the body, learn how interconnected the body truly is through personal experience, and feel confident in their newly attained skills.
Some of the techniques to be learned are diaphragm release, cranial balance, standing sacral release, and uterine unwinding. We will also briefly talk about several important techniques for infants that can be done as soon as baby is born to help them short-term and long-term. This workshop is intended for birth workers such as doulas, midwives and nurses who support families during their birthing time. Space is limited to 14 people per class. Register today! You will learn a brief introduction to craniosacral therapy, discover what your own cranium tells you, learn the cranial bones, then watch and actively participate in how to balance your cranials. Each class will be limited so there is time for questions and everyone can be addressed.
